According to that piece Jan, Al Gore is not only the people's President, he's also a SUPERDELEGATE! What are we to make of that? Anything? I know, I read that and went HMMM... Jan

The superdelegate contingent is made up of the entire Democratic National Committee, all Democratic members of the Senate and House of Representatives, Governors of states and territories, the Mayor of Washington D.C., and 21 "istinguished Party Leaders" who include former presidents, vice presidents, and former chairmen of the national committee. We then have our work cut out for us here, but it is a task worth undertaking. Especially since these delegates have the power to change their minds at any time. They are not bound to any one specific candidate. Therefore, all those interested in helping with this project, please e-mail me. Thanks, Jan

If Al Gore is a superdelegate, then we already have one Gore vote on the floor at the convention don't we?

Just for the information of the group: I am currently working on states with M, N, and O. I am finding them all easier by imputting : Ex: " Insert state________-- Members Of Congress." Also remember that the Governors of these states (democratic) are also superdelegates. Jan

Oh, one more thing. Please put the PAC address as the return address. That way, any responses we may get if we get any, will all go to one place for Erin to monitor. Thanks again, Jan

Not only will putting the PAC address as the return address make all letters go back to one place, it also helps the person receiving the letter know that it has to do with GORE. This is very important. I guess most people in congress don't instruct their mail-openers to trash anything, but if something looks like junk mail, maybe they do. They'd be more likely to open something that has an official looking name on it with Gore in it, don't you think?

Also, I finally heard from Liberty, poor thing, who's been M.I.A. for the last few weeks. A lot of personal stuff, but she's still with us, bless her heart. She suggested, as I believe someone else did in the chat tonight, that we write to Dean to ask if he'd officially turn his delegates over to Gore. It would be a great idea. And I think someone asked if there was a way to get Dean to talk up Gore. Patrick, maybe, said that. We should look into it. We need big exposure for Al now, and this is really the final push. We need to all push together so hard our muscles and veins pop.
Other ideas came up at the chat after some people left. They're worth looking into. GoreLeadership and Julia were discussing some things. We need to get together on all this. I also see we have still more members joining us. Maybe people coming from the Dean camp, I don't know. I hope they make themselves known to us and want to actually WORK with us instead of just reading along.
Anyone reading this: Please help us out with sending the letter out to superdelegates. Write a post here asking how you can help, and we will all gather you within our arms and guide you.
THE TIME IS NOW, OR IT IS LOST FOREVER.

Please keep track of what you spend regarding envelopes, paper, postage, ink, etc. I know I will go in excess of a $100.00 just for these letters alone. It counts as a contribution and one that is now very important to our goal. Thank you, Jan

Ok, one more thing. I promise When sending out your delegate letters, send them to the reps and senators' district offices. Many are not accepting mail in Washington DC because of Bill Frist's ricin scare.;-). Jan

This feels so great!!!! The printers's are flying and we're moving steadily in the right direction. Come and catch the fever; be a true American patriot! Once you see the leader worthy of following; the only leader who knows exactly what to do once he gets there (in that president's chair); don't settle for anything less. We just haven't tried hard enough YET, that's all. First step is to see the LIGHT! Next step presents itself. Just follow your heart! Love always ALWAYS conquers all. Love this country and all who have died to make it worth fighting for. Love your family and make a world they can love for generations to come, ions to come, complete with pristine forests that only idiots tried (but failed) to spoil with thier oil wells. There's no such thing as black gold! Smart people pick a proven leader who WILL NOT let that happen. GORE is the only proven leader to hold fast to his duty as caretaker of the earth and fights still to overrule any ridiculous reason to injure her. Wind and sun are clean and there waiting for us to untap their potential without hurting the water or the air. Gore's already proven he will ensure that earth preservation happens; we don't need (no, we CAN NOT AFFORD) to take chances on campaign rhetoric! And that's only one part of what Gore has in store to set things right. Let's get him there; in that president's chair! >>>> MOVE OVER BUSH, YOU'RE BEING EVICTED BY THE RIGHTFUL OWNERS! Jan

I figure I should state this publicly in case it got lost in the chat last night . . . I'll be covering PQRS for the superdelegate letters (Q should be easy, anyway!). Please let me know ASAP if someone else is doing any of these states.

How is everyone handling the fact that putting the inside address on the superdelegate letters (at the head) pushes the letter over onto a second page? I really think it's imperative that the letter be no longer than one page. With the added disclaimer tag line at the bottom, it's already pushing the limits. Also, are you signing your letters with a personal signature?

Also, are you signing your letters with a personal signature? It is no longer than one page, really. The only thing on the second page is the disclaimer, and we need that. I am simply stapling it, signing it with my signature, (and yes, please do that) and sending it. Jan
