LOL ! Glad I double-checked first!! Now I just need to know which letter you ARE talking about. Was there one particular letter where she asked people to write in Gore's name in the primaries? Help?! This is what I'm talking about. Too much stuff in too many different places. If you can direct me to the letter, Jan, I'll be more than happy to do it. I've gotten a couple of volunteers over there so far to agree to write to the SOS of MA to get Gore's name on the ballot. Another one's looking into FL. Just tell which letter, and then consider it done.
This is the letter, and THANK YOU, Paula. ;D

WRITE IN AL GORE IN 2004
“President Bush is presenting us with a proposition that contains within itself one of the most fateful decisions in our history: a decision to abandon what we have thought was America’s mission in the world – a world in which nations are guided by a common ethic codified in the form of international law.”
— Al Gore, San Francisco, 9/23/02
And so the question still remains: Can Dean Beat Bush?
As I read the online papers today, regarding the Dean endorsement, I found myself reading comments that the previous readers had posted, one of them, a question stood out among all the others and it was one I found I couldn't answer, but one I felt needed to be answered...
The reader's question was this:
If Al Gore's opinion has attracted as much attention as it has and carries as much weight as it apparently does, it makes you wonder, should he really be sitting this one out? Wasn't this suppose to be his fight?
Regarding Mr. Gore's endorsement of Dr. Howard Dean:
Mr. Gore's endorsement is completely consistent with his previous statements that he would make an endorsement at some point. However, it does nothing to change his own status as the virtual incumbent, and "front-runner-at-large". We are pushing forward with this effort to give the American people their choice. Mr. Gore has done what he must do, and we are doing what we must do. We will not rest until Mr. Gore has the Democratic Nomination, and justice is returned to the American political system.
Howard Dean Endorses Al Gore:
As Mr. Dean began his introduction in Harlem that morning, he said what an honor it was to have former Vice President , Our Elected President here with us today, he went on to say, "I thank Al Gore for his extraordinary leadership in this party in the last couple of years. I told him, I say what I think, for better or worse, I told him the two best speeches in this campaign were given by somebody who is not running for president and that was his March and September speech about the war and about foreign policy". Howard Dean Dec 9, 2003
51,000.000 Americans went to the polls on Nov. 7, 2000 to cast a vote for the promise and the hope that Al Gore envisioned for our country, our nation and the world in which we all live. Although much has changed in the world since that day, I believe we need that hope and that vision more today, than ever before. Gore alone has the experience and the credentials to defeat a sitting president in a time or war.
If you are undecided, ask yourself these questions. What other person living on this planet today is called on by nearly every foreign nation to speak on international problems – and – what other person has the stature and credibility nationally to work with and resolve our great and growing national problems. Don’t settle for less – stand up and be counted. Your country needs you – can you do less?
Remember what John F Kennedy said:
And so, my fellow americans: ask not what your country
can do for you - ask what you can do for your country.
John F. Kennedy, Inaugural address, January 20, 1961
WRITE IN AL GORE IN 2004
The results from the District of Columbia will be reflected in all future primaries and caucuses. A good showing in D.C., New Hampshire, and Iowa will make Al Gore the front-runner in this presidential campaign because he is the candidate the vast majority of Democrats want to vote for – and - he said, “I have the energy, the drive, and the ambition for another campaign.”
How to write in a candidate and how a draft of Al Gore will work:
Any registered Democrat can vote in the primary or the Democratic caucus for your area. At your voting booth, write in Al Gore’s name ‘X-VP Al Gore’, and DO NOT select another candidate. In some primaries, you cannot write-in Al Gore, choose “Uncommitted.” If it is an electronic voting booth, ask for assistance in using your write-in or uncommitted option. Check with your county Democratic party chair person to find out further information on what the polices are for your state. A vote for Al Gore in your primary or caucuses will not effect your vote in the general election next year. It will only serve to bring Mr. Gore into race to become our party's nominee.
All votes for Al Gore will be tallied at the end of the primary or caucus just like any other candidate. The numbers will be counted from all the caucuses and primaries nationwide and will be reflected at the Democratic National Convention. Your primary/caucus write-in votes will ensure our strength at the Democratic National Convention in July, 2004.
At the Democratic National Convention, all delegates must cast their first ballot for the candidate with the most votes in their individual state. If none of the declared candidates win on the first ballot with 50% plus one vote, there will be a second ballot. On the second ballot, anyone can be nominated – and we can - and we will - nominate Al Gore.
Al Gore will win by a landslide because he is the candidate the majority of voting Democrats, and a great and growing number of Independents, Moderate Republicans and Green Party members really want to cast their vote for in 2004.
Help us reach all voters – email or print off and give this flier to family, friends and neighbors.
We are not connected with Al Gore, we are grassroots origination working to draft Al Gore in 2004.
