;D In the Drudgereport today, Al Gore is headlined as extremely angry, and vehemently denounces Bush, the administration, and all the mistakes made during Iraq, etc... I have tried to be a Gore supporter since the beginning, but now I am confused. When we have thousands of young men and women serving overseas in hostile territories, getting killed, and injured - should we be publicly bashing the president in such a manner? Gore should understand that these muslim extremists, of which there are many, feed off this kind of criticism - it emboldens them, it makes them more anti american, and more willing to commit horrible acts against americans. This, for those of you who remember Jane Fonda and Vietnam, is exactly the same....it provides comfort and viability to the enemy, and I can tell you this with absolute certainty: it costs more american lives - period. Now, I am sorry to say, am re evaluating my entire position for Al Gore - I sincerely hope others will to. Signed, a sad and disheartened former Gore supporter.

"We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. When the loyal opposition dies, I think the soul of America dies with it." Edward R. Murrow
Senate GOP Leader Robert Taft declared "Criticism in a time of war is essential to the maintenance of any kind of democratic government."
Teddy Roosevelt said it best, "To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."
Thomas Jefferson said, "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism,"

We cannot follow our so called leaders in lock step and not hold them accountable....especially not in war time. It is our duty and especially Al Gore's to demand the administration to do the right thing. It should be Al's job and Bush is botching it in the worst way, you have to know that.. Its called Democracy.
