I told our inability to get out the word would start to hurt. This is the second time this week Hillary has beat Al in a poll. This time it is by 5 points. You can still sit there and say we are making progress, but you would be lying. We are failing ourselves, others, and most of all Al! www.msnbc.com/news/969441.asp?cp1=1" Despite Clarks strong entrance, the Democrats remain less than enthusiastic about their choice in candidates. If former Vice President Al Gore or New York Sen. Hillary Clinton were to enter the 2004 presidential raceboth have said they will not runloyalties of Democrats would shift dramatically, with 33 percent saying their first choice for Democratic nominee would be Clinton, and 28 percent saying their first choice would be Gore. It is clear that there is manipulation going on in the media regarding WHAT news gets out, and how it is interpreted. I think I will send a little package to MSNBC. Jan

Seems this poll is a fraud. According to the link in this post it says there were like 1000 people surveyed. But now I have found out it was an online poll with the following specs: pollingreport.com/wh04dem.htmNewsweek Poll conducted by Princeton Survey Research Associates. Sept. 18-19, 2003. N=377 registered Democrats and independents who lean Democratic nationwide. MoE ± 6 This is not a reliable poll, so I wouldnt pay much attention to it. But we do need some more polls showing Gore doing great like the tie with Bush.

Perhaps it should be expected that as the Draft Gore 2004 effort picks up steam - which is what appears to be happening - there will be corresponding counter-efforts to discourage all this work ... in the form of polls (which, again, are really a kind of junk science and so should be taken in stride), in the tragic form of continued negative media reporting and refusal to give this whole endeavor any kind of serious attention, in the way of increased backlash and dismissals of this effort by supporters of other candidates ... and so on, there will be no end to it all. Gore is making important points that are resonating, and obviously much needed institutional sources and outlets are reluctant to take them up in any kind of profound way. (Which - as an aside - is why it woud be so tremendously helpful if Gore would therefore step up public attention to these points, more appearances, more speeches, etc.; these things can only be ignored at-large for so long.) So have faith out there, and get more calls and more letters out to different local and state Dem. Party places !!! The focus here needs to be outward and forward. - BillC

What do you suggest we should do, Chris? I always see complaints from you but never a constructive suggestion how to change the situation. The point is that we should not let these things discourage us because we don't really have control over them. The only way you can gain control over them is if you were to storm and occupy Fox News Headquarters. Now is that a viable option? Dennis

I have always said this everytime I have offered criticism. We need to get more exposure. I thought there was supposed to be rallies, conventions, meetups? None!
Were is the getting the word out? Ex. The poll of Bush V Gore was only covered by 2 or 3 places. The people have to do better on this. We could also use more polls, keep the people updated, and focus on letting people outside the internet there is a DRAFT GORE movement.
That is what we need to do. I am sure someone will say they are doing that. Guess what it is not working. Ask Tangy, ask Jan. It is time to face reality.
Posting on a forum is not getting the job done.

Does anybody out here keep in touch with - or have an "open line" so-to-speak - to Gore's office in Tenn. ? If so, then maybe a spot-check should be done ... "Say," someone could ask them, "what have you guys seen over the past few [or several, whichever] weeks in the way of letters and faxes, or phone calls, coming in urging Gore to run ?" "What kind of activity have you seen of late as far as the talk goes on the fact that there is an effort going on out here to draft him ?" Or whatever. Ideas like that. It can do no harm. Beyond that, putting-out-the-feelers communications with local Dem. Party groups might - from the Draft Gore side - have to take on a more challenging posture ... hammering any conversations or correspondence down to the bottom line fairly quickly, since it really is this simple ... Hey Dems, do you want to win this thing next year or don't you ? ... 'Cause the view from today, given the current group that's out there - is that it doesn't look like it's gonna happen. And so on.

Chris, I have sent the Zogby poll to media outlets in at least ten states already, and to the major networks. Do you really think they will share it , however? Tell us first how we are going to break the hold the Bush cabal has over this media. Why do you think Al Gore was pushing for a Progressive cable network? It isn't as easy to do as you think. In a REAL Democracy, Draft Gore and Elect Gore could hold a press conference and have it covered on all the major networks. Tell us how we are going to accomplish that? Storm their offices? Meetup is growing, as Steven Robinson has reported here. Are you signed up for it? You could also send the poll on to media outlets and newspapers in your own state. Hand out flyers, shake people's hands in your community. You have no idea how far one flyer can go. Also, if you think this forum isn't doing anything, I beg to differ. These forums are really a lifeline to many regarding the events going on, and I have no doubt has brought new members in. It is picking up, but also remember, as much as we may want this to explode all at once, I do believe the small steps are leading to better days. With all due respect, I see it as the same analogy regarding those who don't vote complaining about the state of this country. If you aren't really willing to get out there and do it, don't criticize those who are. Jan

Again I have done it! How many times do I have to reiterate this? I attened the TN rally. I have created the best Gore site on the web. I have opened a active Gore forum. I send Gore news to over 1000 people. I have worked with the meetup people. I have been interview by the Tennessean, Fox, NBC, and the Hill newspaper. I am also working with UNECO now.
So please, don't imply that I have not done anything. If half the people have done as much as just a select few of us have done, we would be doing good.
I think I am doing pretty good considering my age.

good for you Jan...
to quote Al Gore.....
"Eighty five years ago there was a poet who wrote a poem that included these lines: "The best lack all conviction and the worst are full of passionate intensity. And the centre cannot hold." Sometimes I listen to some of those right wing talk radio people and I think the worst are full of passionate intensity. And then sometimes I hear people who agree with you and me about what's right and what needs to be done and how much work is still undone, and they're laying back. And they think "Ah, I don't think it really makes any difference." And I think: hmmm. The best lack all conviction. "
I haven't a clue why anyone would choose so blatantly to dishearten those within the continued Draft Gore movement....those that continue to go against the odds on a daily basis.....if anything I give you my thanks. It's much easier to loose heart and walk away and yet you refuse to...
many thanks to those who continue to believe in the effort...
a tip of the hat to you...

I think you doing well too, Chris, and this site IS the best Gore site on the web. Which is my point. It doesn't LOOK like anything is being done to some, but it is. Sometimes, it is also best to not be too obvious either, if you get my drift. And again, most young people your age are more concerned with anything but politics, so for that I commend you. Please don't misread the meaning of my last message. MY real anger is with the over half a million Americans who didn't even bother to get up and vote in 2000. Jan

I will NEVER give up the fight to see Al Gore in our White House in 2004. I don't believe anyone here will either. Well said Chris. I totaly agree with you and I fully support your position. I've been urging Monica to send out the Zogby poll to the major tv and newspaper media outlets to no avail. I don't understand why Monica wants to keep the Zogby poll such a big secret. This is just more evidence on why I don't believe that Monica is a real Al Gore supporter. I do have a question though, I didn't get from your 2nd post on the Newsweek poll that it was an online random poll and not a scientific poll. Do you have any further link that you could provide that proves that the Newsweek poll was in fact a random online poll. I think this is significant and a point that we'll need to hammer strongly.

Al Gore knows there is a draft movement. Im sure if Al was not thinking about getting back into the race he would have asked that the draft movement end? He has not. What has to be done and from what I read is being done is preparing for Al's re-entry into the race. This is being done at the grassroots. Don't worry about the polls. As I said before there are forces out there that do not want Al to run. They mention Hillary to discourage those who want Al to run. The major news media always omit Al Gore and talk up Hillary. Thats by design as they know Al is the only democrat that can beat bush in 2004. Once Al enters the race and after reading his California speech I am confident he will in do time. Things have to be in place before Al enters the race. Im sure things are being done in the background which we do not know about. This Al Gore web site is the best on the internet. If Al Gore does not run it won't be there fault. It will be ours for giving up on him. Al knows all the work that is being done on his behalf in the draft Gore movement. As far as Im concerned in do time Al Gore will answer the call. 51 million voted for him and most of them would support Al again over Hillary or any other candidate in 2004. A political bombshell it will be when Al gets into the race. They stole one election! Not this time! We will be ready for them. Again thank you to all the people who have made this web site possible and all the draft gore people who are working behind the scenes to get Al into the race. The goal is within reach and we all can be part of it.

Chris- THANK YOU for this great website & the opportunity for all of us "Gore to the Core" supporters to gather and honor Al Gore.. You have done a great service and we are very appreciative of your hard work To all- I look at it this way, we have supported Gore from beginning and will continue to, period.. These polls, these "news shows" (which we all know are puppets) are not accurate. Do not let anyone ever stop you from following your heart. We all know our heart is where Al Gore is and what happened in 2000.. This is a bond he shares with the American people FOREVER, no-one will ever or can change this unbreakable bond. People will remember and they will not forget. We may moveon, but all hearts lead to home & Gore will always be our family Now for the specifics, this poll is absolutely unreliable and this is why, 6 margin of error? Like is this within the boundaries of acceptable population samples? You can find a poll to support whatever you want, you can even find many media outlets to cover a story with only one side presented.. BUT WE KNOW BETTER THAN THAT- we are GORE SUPPORTERS FOR GOD SAKE. He could even tell us what a joke these indicators are, unreliable and BIAS- something we all know about ;D -GoreLeadership
