Thank you Mr. Gore. You summed it up quite nicely. When I saw Bush in 2000, I knew that he was not to be trusted. What he has done to this country had surpassed my wildest dreams then. I just cannot believe what happened to America. We need to beat this administration at any cost. If there is any sembalence of justice, he needs to be beaten. I will do everything I can to help John Kerry do that now.

I just finished watching the rebroadcast of tonight's speech on C-Span. I have always had a great deal of respect for Mr. Al Gore. I supported his nomination for VP, during the Clinton Administration and voted for him during the 2000 elections. I believe him to be an honest and honorable man. I would like to thank him for putting a voice to what I would like to have said aloud. I cried for weeks when Mr. Bush took the White House, and I have cried many times since because of who he is, what he represents, atleast to me, and what he has done to our country. I am so proud to be a Democrat and so proud that we have political leaders like AL Gore being involved and speaking out for what is right. A strong voice for the party, A strong voice for the people like me that can not otherwise be heard. Thank you for putting the heat under the feet of those responsible for the trampling of our nation, the division of our people, the humiliation of 'national disgrace', besmudging and distorting the humanity of Christianity, and further angering and widen the gap for anti- Christian tolerance, hipocracy, the list could go on and on. I will spare you. Again, Thank You. Sincerely Democracy4me

Great speech Mr. President! It's so refreshing to hear a real leader tell the truth for once. It is long past the time for these right wing maniacs to be held accountable for their actions. It was a tremendous loss for our nation when you had the Presidency stolen away in such a nefarious fashion. Thank you for your service.

Truly an awesome speech. How coincidental that Ashcroft and Mueller chose the same day to unveil these seven new "boogeymen" that we're supposed to help track down and turn in. You don't think they did that to distract attention away from Gore, do you?
The religious wacko Ashcroft is up there pleading with the American people to help him find these people. Are our intelligence agencies that screwed up? "Be aware of your surroundings." "Stay vigilant." "Report anything unusual to your local police or FBI." I wish I could figure out a way to report Republicons to the FBI.
I still feel so robbed, abused, and betrayed by the Bush Gang. We must come out to the polls in record numbers to make it impossible for Diebold and the others to try and steal the next election for Bush.
Talk about a "long national nightmare!!" Thanks, Al. Don't make yourself so scarce. I'm looking forward to the debate on the environment with Bob Dole on the 28th. Hey, that's tomorrow!

I think the old gang has quit. Ever since some of them decided that they wanted to start their own "community", both groups were hurt. The people that once were hardcore, are not even posting. I am very disappointed in some of our former, so called, hardcore supporters. However, there is great reation for people all over the web about this speech. I think we have gained about 16 new members today, along with alot of guest posters. However, I too wish the old group of posters would come back, but I feel that the split did them in. Not so. We are still around. This one in particular has just been working a ton of hours and collapsing without getting to the library to get on a computer. Still love Al Gore. Still wish he were in his rightful office. Still support him in everything. Just alot of unpleasantries of life to attend to. Got to see the speech though !!!

I'm a big Al Gore fan, voted for him last time, and would vote for him this time had he run. I was willing to contribute both time and money as well. I was very saddened when he truly decided not to re-run.
I mention this because I was not overly impressed with the speech yesterday, which I viewed from C-Span. Al does the "red meat" speech better than anyone, but this one seemed a little staged. I thought the angry moments of the speech seemed somewhat calculated, and the soft sad moments, like the Tenet resignation section, also seemed calculated, and not sincere as well. In the past, I thought Al spoke from his heart, and this time I actually had some doubts that this was not just another attack speech from just another politician not in power, at least during some moments of it.
Saying that, I still think the calls for Rumsfeld's, Rice's et al resignations are good, and will put further pressure on the Bush Admin. However, like Nader's recent call for Bush's impeachment, I am not seeing much coverage of this event in the mainstream media. In fact, I mostly see that the coverage is in negative response to the speech. I know the Republicans come out in force for stuff like this, but I did miss the support from the DNC, Ted Kennedy, Howard Dean, Donna Brazile, and other prominent Democrats. Its like they left Gore out to dry. Even Hillary and Bill Clinton had nothing to say, (at least that I was able to find).
I was very hopeful that in the end, Kerry would pick Gore as VP again. The lukewarm response from our side to his speech makes me think that won't happen now. That makes me even sadder, because I think Gore could handle Cheney easily, and match the "gravitas".

Dear President Gore,
I whole-heartedly agree with you. Your words powerfully express what is wrong within the USA. Thank you, Thank you...
