Hi, cherished fellow Gore appreciators!
Just popped in to say I'm still among you, as I received an e-mail from this site admin saying, hey, y'all, please don't forget to stay part of the Gore-appreciating community by popping 'round and posting once in a blue moon, or words/sentiments to that effect! So, here I am! Posting! But do I have anything of actual substance to say, THAT is the question!
Well, let's see...
Earthmomma, you will probably be irked with me because, when the moment of truth FINALLY came in the voting "booth" (read: easily-hacked-into Etch-a-Sketch/Computer on shaky stick legs), I voted for Kerry afterall. If I could have written in Al Gore, you know I would have, but as you know, FL is a total party pooper and won't allow write-ins. Long story short, at the last possible second, I decided to get on board the Kerry bandwagon now and avoid the rush.
I'm just so glad that the primary season is, for me in Florida anyway, OVER, as I have never agonized over one more. I still so deeply wish Gore had decided to run. But no sense preaching to the choir there, I know you feel my pain!
So, for me, being in Florida, a state that has now voted, it is time to coalesce behind the Democratic candidate and get shrub out. Check it out, I even made up a little chant about same:
[glow=red,2,300]Get shrub out!
Get shrub out!
Now it's time to twist and shout!
Bring it on!
Bring it on!
Throw shrub's bags on the White House lawn!
Can't touch this!
Can't touch this!
Send him back to old Texas![/glow]
Well? What do ya think? Pretty BRIL, no?
Anyway, I'm not unhappy with Kerry, I think he is a very strong candidate and has an excellent voting record on important issues such as the environment, which is Number One on my hit parade. All my focus and energy now is going into effectuating my chant, above!
The only downside to a Kerry/Democratic victory in 2004 is the following: That would mean that Gore couldn't run in 2008, as it would be a Kerry/whoever ticket. Did y'all think of that? I did. So, if shrub wins (which he won't), I am going to console myself with the thought of Gore running in 2008 and how ripe the American public will be to sweep him (or any Democrat by that point--surely EVERYONE will have woken up and will be severely and completely anti-shrub by that point, right?) into office. However, we can't afford a shrub win/shrub repeat/shrub: the sequel. Good golly, Miss Molly, I can't even believe what shrub has done in four short years. I barely even recognize my own cherished country as it is. Four more years of shrub and we won't need any homeland security to protect us from terrorists, as we will have already subverted and ruined everything that makes America great all on our own.
