Hey I'm new. Though I have been a lurker of these forums for awhile, but recently felt need to get off my butt and start joining the discussion.
Anyways, I can't say I supported Al Gore in 2000. For some reason he didn't come across to me as appealing at the time. So I ended up voting 3rd party. But took a second look at him after he endorsed Howard Dean in the primaries. And I got finished reading "Earth in The Balance" and watched some of his speeches from Moveon.org and I am pretty impressed on his views on global warming and the environment. He seems to be the only public figure that is seriously discussing the issue.
Looking back, I regret not voting for Al Gore. He would have been a fine president rather then the current one. But if he ever runs again for any type of office I won't make the same mistake I made last time.

Welcome, Leftist! Yes, he will make a fine President. Did you vote Nader or Libertarian?

At the time I was just starting to get into philosophy and read many works from Ayn Rand. So at the time,I supported Harry Browne from the Libertarian Party in 2000. Kind of a bad choice considering they advocate Laizze Faire economics, but I do like thier views on civil liberties. Of course over the past four years. I've had the opportunity to be exposed to different philosophies and political ideas and my views have changed since then.

I also agree with the Libertarian issues on civil liberties and refer to them when I am concerned about these issues. They are the last word on that as far as I am concerned. I do not agree with a lot of their views..such as the govt. not funding schools at all and some tend to be the gun toting type.. Wonder how many votes ole' Harry Brown will get this time.
