www.tennessean.com/elections/2004/archives/04/02/46571805.shtml?Element_ID=46571805By BONNA de la CRUZ Staff Writer Some fault candidate; others say ex-VP lacks clout in Tennessee Tennessee voters will get their first glimpse of Al Gore during this primary race on Sunday at a Democratic Party rally, when the former vice president presumably will speak up for Howard Dean before he and two other prominent Democrats are feted. Gore came out in support of Dean two months ago and there's disagreement over why the endorsement isn't helping Dean in Gore's back yard. ''People don't feel Al Gore's still a Tennessean,'' said state Sen. Steve Cohen, D-Memphis, who is backing John Kerry. ''I don't think Gore brought anyone with him to Dean, and I'm not sure he tried to. It was simply Al Gore, and I don't know how involved and visible he's been in Tennessee.'' But others say Dean's poor showing in Tennessee has more to do with the candidacy of the former Vermont governor than with Gore.

Oh boy, my bloods a perculating today. Let's see this one's saying he's not a Tennessean, um "others" say he didn't bring anyone with him when he endorsed Dean. The rovin reporter rumor mill strikes again. Amazing the things rumors and inuendos can do when all the newspapers and tv cameras get to free wield wherever they want to go and say whatever they want to say. More importantly, they can leave out whatever "they" want to as well. Like how Gore's been outside of Tennessee alot traveling nationwide making speeches squelched by even the independent media on the atrocities of so-called public policies, assaults on our environment and civil liberties, and the fear tactics used to control. Oh, and attending earth summits and such other things to hide from his appalling selection of someone able to stir up some controversial subject matter. Whoosh, yeah, just out there hiding away, so ashamed of all his judgment calls. Brother, what's this reporter's email address?

What is going on here? There have been a handfull of articles similar to this one in the past week. Are they gearing up for the rally in TN this weekend?
Also, should we send out a mailing to our followers and ask them to reply to these boneheads?

I saw a piece on CNN tonight (Wolf I think)that was slamming Gore's last speech saying that since he endorsed Dean he has moved to far to the left, and he would never be a viable candidate again. I wrote to CNN and told them that-that was a little over the top and asked what they would go out of their way to put this label on him, rather than just report on the speech. Paula

I don't get this. Americans are supposed to care about who Al Gore endorses while not even a candidate and after saying he isn't running (with the media already thinking him irrelevant), but the media doesn't seem to think they should care about what the current powerbrokers are doing to this country? That Bush is a war criminal? That Kerry is a member of that very elite? That Theresa Heinz Kerry was married to Senator Heinz, who was also a member of Skull and Bones? That she also knows Ken Lay, and that he supported her environmental organization because he wanted emission credits under the Kyoto Protocol? That they have lied in this administration at every turn and murdered innocent people? I'm sorry if this offends any members here as well, but I see the Clintons all over this too. Don't tell me they aren't working behind the scenes to see Hillary Clinton in play for 2008. What better way than to ensure that Gore is seen as a washup? It is a shame. Not only do we have to deal with Bush and his band of fascists, now we even have those within our own party who would stoop to anything to see their own place in the party set. Notice the Clintons have been hiding out as well throughout this entire campaign. Very strange considering Hillary Clinton in the past couldn't remain silent about anything. If not, why aren't they coming out to defend their friend Al Gore? The man who stood by Clinton's side for eight years as the best Vice President this country has ever seen? Where are they then? There are more people afraid of a Gore candidacy than the Bushes who know Al would kick his %%% into the next century. The DLC also knows that if Gore should run this year, HE would run again in 2008 and Hillary would be out. Those who think that the DLC members who tell them we must unite the party and support Kerry are sincere about putting this country first, are naive to the extreme. They aren't innocent either by any stretch. Jan

Isn't it funny how other people who endorsed Dean and the other loosing candidates don't get this bad rap.

Well, I spent some time and sent responses to these writers who all must have had the same assignment: come up with something to discredit Al Gore because he's going to be honored this Sunday in Tennessee. Of the 3 prominent democrats to be honored, for some reason, they singled out Al Gore and decided to make it seem like Tennesseans don't consider you a Tennessean unless you stay put. Check out the source of the negative comments on Bonna's article, someone who backs another candidate. Real deep stuff. Bonna, is it you or your boss who's the republican?
