Remember when they wagged the yellow lab puppy?
LOL
As if a pure-bred yellow lab pup would be in Afghanistan.

Why do we need to go into Liberia when we are already having trouble in Iraq? Afghanistan is still not done, and the culprits of both of those wars still have not been brought to justice.
Should we go to war with the entire world, and spread our troops all over the world just to be walking targets? Is this what America stands for today? Is this what makes us proud to be from this nation? The fact we can pound on the rest of the world without impunity brings a 70% approval rating in American pride? This is not what a Christian nation should be doing, and it is "our" troops getting killed on a daily basis. Pride comes before a fall. That is a message we all should have learned from Viet Nam. It starts out small with flag waving & patriotism, but it ends up with more and more US troops dead just to garner gain and press our authority on other nations that do not want us there. How many rock throwers, and suicide bombers does it take for the people of this nation to get the point across? Our military was established by our founding fathers for our defense, not to occupy other nations because we want their resources or to increase approval ratings. I am sure troops dodging bullets on the ground do not care about who approves of the fact they might be killed. They just want to come home. I am sure the dead do not care if someone waves the flag because they are not here anymore. I guess their vote they gave their lives for just does not count.
I personally will not support anyone who believes driving us broke with an overblown and inflated defense budget will keep us safe. Bill Clinton & Al Gore kept us safe as they could without jeopardizing our children's future or robbing our senior citizens. Then this government says we will help you get prescription drugs without bringing forth any hidden costs? Insurance companies that support older Americans will now be able to drop prescription coverage for drugs the seniors cannot even afford anyway while radio pundits insult these older Americans in the process. And all of this is just so this government can continue to send troops to occupy foreign lands, and build missile defense monuments that remind one of MX missiles and the Satellite Defense Iniatiative, two expensively "dead" programs. "Read my lips"! Remember what ever you get when the government runs in the red, will eventually have to be paid back in the end of it all. Someone eventually will have to pay the bill 4 to 8 years down the line so why let it grow in the first place? Just so someone can be popularly approved?
We wonder why the Russians & the world call us Imperialists while we occupy country after country on this planet to force our ways upon them where they want it or not. If a vote were taken today in Iraq on US presence it would get a resounding "Get Out!" Look at all the candidates for president. Any of them on either side that is just using this war as a tool or crutch to press their point is not worth voting for at all. It is an issue to resolve, not a media tool to make someone "look" good.
I am sure Albert Gore would not want to engage in nation building, something the present government denies it is doing, while it sets up new government after new government all over the world. As for the puppy EC it probably belonged to one of the Navy officers because you know something that defenseless wouldn't just be found in Iraq running around with the environment or predators there to eat it. Some of them walk on two legs there, and consider dog a delicacy.
GOD BLESS YOU IN YOUR DAY!

I would have to disagree with you that we are a Christina nation. Thank God. Separation of church and state keeps me sane. I'm a heretic and proud of it.
We are imperialists, that's for sure. But we are cloaked. Most don't deduce this or don't care to.

These books lay it down quite flat. It should be required reading.

I have to a agree with you that we probably aren't a Christian nation, but our forefathers did plan for God to be in our lives which is why we find him on our money, and in our pledges. It is also a two way street with church & state issues. It is just as wrong for the government to get involved in moral issues as it is for the church to get involved in state issues. Take abortion for example. It has been a hot issue for years becasue the government has gotten itself involved with church affairs. I am pro-choice, but I feel if the church was doing its job in convincing women that abortion is wrong, then young ladies in this country would not pick it as an option. Any minister will tell me, "well you can't make them come to church", and that is true, but you can press the issue that the government stay out of the decision making process. I am not for state funded abortions, but I feel the government can't stop private abortion clinics. It is the church's job and moral obligation to peacefully convince women on a daily basis, not to get abortions. That means I am also not in favor of people screaming out in front of abortion clinics in protest or bombing the places. I am for these people getting in touch with young people, male & female, and having serious discussions with them of the results of unprotected sex, and the moral issues involved with killing a child they produced. This happens every day with positive effects! But as for the state being involved? No way! They make a mess of things now! I also favor contraception so once again I am being contradictory. But if it prevents abortions and young folks won't abstain then the church should not stand in the way. ;D Our founding fathers instituted the separation of church & state over time to prevent the formation of theocracy such as what is in Iran, but they never intended to take God out of our lives. On the contrary they wanted more freedom of religion.BLESS YOU IN YOUR DAY & GO ENJOY IT! LIFE IS WAY TOO SHORT! REMEMBER YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THE JUDGEMENT OF OTHERS THAT TELL YOU THEY ARE RIGHT & YOU ARE WRONG THEN STUFF THE IDEA DOWN YOUR THROAT WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT! YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO LISTEN TO ME! ISN'T AMERICA A WONDERFUL PLACE TO LIVE IN?
