Where is the logic in the Bush Administration in regards to the tax cuts? This country went from surplus under the Clinton/Gore years to a deficit larger prior to Bill Clinton took office. We are in a time of war, and Bush is still campaigning on his tax cuts? Now if this country is financing this war with billions of dollars, then surely this money has to come from somewhere. The most logical guess, would be to raise taxes, but no this administration seems to have no plans on doing so. John McCain even came out and criticized the President about cutting taxes in a time of war. So if a fellow Republican can understand this, then why can't Bush? Then there is that memo that was leaked that claims Bush plans to cut funding on programs such as Head Start, Education, Veterans Affairs and Homeland Security if he is elected again. So this is how he is going to pay off for his tax cuts be cutting funds on education and homeland security. (And it does suprise me that Bush plans on reducing funding for homeland security, when after all he claims this is one of his main priorities.) For more info about the memo: blog.johnkerry.com/dbunker/archives/001797.htmlI am no economic whiz, but common sense dictates that financing a war with tax cuts will put a strain on the rest of government programs, the deficit, as well American citizens. So why isn't Bush have any plans on raising taxes? The GOP is supposed to be the party of fiscal responsibilty. But it doesn't appear to be that way at the moment.
