www.usatoday.com/news/polls/tables/live/2003-09-22-bush-poll.htmWow, looks like our movement has totally missed the boat. We can no longer say that our candidate is the only one who can win or that he is the best candidate, because the people are not saying that. I dont know what we are supposed to do now. This was one of our talking points that he was the strongest candidate and was the only one who could win. What shall we do?

What shall we do? >>>>>>>> We will only be doomed if we fall into the poll trap and forget the accomplishments and credentials of this great man who can BEAT THEM ALL. Truly, I am sick of polls. They don't tell you anything about what these men can or will do, and really, with Bush falling every day even Mickey Mouse could hit forty percent. So what? If we are going to let polls drive us, we might as well give up now. I don't intend to be dragged down into the mire. We are all here because we KNOW Al Gore is the leader America needs NOW. We don't need a poll to tell us that, and what is in our hearts must be conveyed to the public from OUR hearts as Gore is letting his heart be seen. When he said there was much work to do, he knew what he was talking about. I am no longer looking at polls, and will definitely not base where this movement goes on them. Al Gore has 25 years as a public servant and being the winner of the only poll that counts under his belt. Perhaps we should start focusing on that for once. Jan

Don't worry. They didn't include the obvious first choice of Democrats and of Americans, AL Gore. Had he been included against Bush, there is no doubt that he would have won also. Besides, now beating Bush may not be as hard of these candidates as getting the nomination without being ripped apart by the other ones. That is really Gore's strength. The others will really look bad if they can't establish a solid lead in the polls and then attack Gore when he enters the race, as I hope and pray he does. I am encouraged by the reports of his attitude towards the Draft Gore signs in CA. He still is the only one who can Defeat Bush for sure. It just keeps getting more and more interesting.

If he were, I'd guarantee the numbers would be very different. Remember, each poll that included Gore ALWAYS had him at or near the top of the list of Democrats.

We have to get the point across that it's more than defeating Bush.
We have to put the right man into office.
If we put in Kerry or Dean, it very well may be worse than re-electing Bush.
Hear me out.
If either of these boneheads are elected they are likely to screw up because they just are not Presidential material. That will kill the Democratic party for a very long time.
That's the message. Get it out!
We have work to do!
And don't be discouraged. There are going to be a lot of things happening that are setup just to discourage us. Keep your eyes on the prize and continue to strive.

Gore is still the best man head and shoulders above Kerry, Dean, or Clark. So far Clark has only been wooed by his followers. Just like Arnold he's going to get a sudden and rude awakening by either the press or some special interest group or another. Also, what is his record on the environmentf? Social programs? What is his economic policy, his foreign policy, his domestic policy. He's never had to deal with these issues. He has to answer the questions about what his health policy is. How is he planning to take care of the elderly, the poor, the children. What about the soccer moms and their concerns? He doesn't know about any of this and Al Gore has a 27 year record showing he knows. Clark may have a great resume, but he still isn't nearly as rounded as Gore. Clark is a general, a lifer who has mostly lived the in the military world of giving orders and never being qestioned. We don't know how well he'll do under the media pressure. If it looks like he's getting ahead the media and the neo cons will go for blood. Give it time. His popularity may plummet very quickly, just like Arnold. Believe me, only the press and Oprah and Larry King are still deluding themselves that Arnold is taken seriously here. He only gets the most coverage because he's, well,...the total recall terminator governator wannabe. We need to stop hitting the panic button every time something new comes along and gets all the attention for 15 minutes. Give the man a chance to fall flat on his face before proclaiming him our next President! ;D

Every poll that adds Gore (including the latest Newsweek poll) he does better than every other candidate including Wesley Clark. I'm sure if Gore had been in this poll he would have kicked Bush's butt. Of course maybe they did include him and that's why they didn't publish those results.

My point was that maybe we will have to change our talking points. We have always said that Gore is the only candidate that can win over Bush, now we see that this is not the case. All I am saying we must use fresh tatics, not unformitable ones.

Is this the season for polls or what? We know that Gore polls way higher than any of the other candidates. I refuse to let these polls bounce me around like a yoyo!! Enough is enough. We know we have the man for the job. We just have to figure out how to get him there...without becomming an emotional wreck in the process.
