Dear Democrat/Gore supporter, This is the section on the GSC forum in which you can freely discuss the democratic nominee, John Kerry. Although the Al Gore Support Center did not endorse Kerry in the primaries, we will unite behind him if he is indeed the democratic nominee. For over a year, many of us worked hard on the Draft Gore movement in hope Al would change his mind. However, the die has been cast now and Mr. Kerry has got the number of delegates to win the nomination. We, just like millions of other Americans, want Bush out of office. Just because you unite behind Mr. Kerry for the presidency, does not mean you are abandoning Gore. Mr. Gore himself has encouraged everyone to be a good Democrat and to get behind the eventual nominee whoever it is. Mr. Gore was aware of our efforts to draft him, and he was flattered, however it is now time to take his advice and take back our country in 2004. Mr. Gore has been delivering speeches blasting the Bush Administration on a wide range of issues from the economy to the environment. Al will be a player in the 2004 election. This site will be here 100% behind Gore from here on out. We started out as a site urging Gore to run in 2004, then we became a general activism/information Gore site. We feel this site is like a Senator's or Congressman's online office. We have everything a Gore supporter could need. We know that Mr. Gore's vision for America is the best of anyones out there. However, it is our job to keep that vision alive, starting here online. Posting on our forums, participating in our chats, and reading the front page daily will do just that by keeping you involved and informed. So please, if your candidate did not win the nomination, be a good Democrat and get behind the eventual nominee and continue to support your favorite Democrat's vision and beliefs. It is urgent that we take back this country in 2004 and restore it back to a democracy! Thank you, Chris D. Jackson Al Gore Support Center Administrator www.algoresupportcenter.com/algoresupport.proboards19.com/index.cgi

If you are now a Kerry forum, I'm outta here. I joined here because I heard there was a group here working to see Gore drafted. I think Gore could beat Bush. Why aren't you all supporting that? Sounds like a shove it down our throats job to me. Bye Bye.

OMG, how much more clear can I make this? Yes we are still a Gore site/forum, 100%! I have said that a million times. This one section is for discussing the Kerry campaign. However, we are still a Gore forum all the way. I don't see how this is any different from what the policy was before. This one section used to be a discussion for all the Democratic candidates, before they all pulled out. We have all said that we will get behind the eventual democratic nominee, and that is basically what we will do. So please tell me what is hard to understand about this?

You're doing what Al Gore said we should do and rally behind the nominee.

I know it is like they think I, along with the site is leaving Gore and going to Kerry, which is no where close to the truth. Jan got so mad she deleted her account and started her own forum.
Kerry is already the nominee via the delegate process, so what exactly is the goal of PFG? I will not contribute to being a spoiler in 2004 in anyway. Mr. Gore has already reconized the efforts but has said thanks, but no thanks. He has also said we should all be good Democrats and unite behind the eventual nominee.
But nothing here at the forum or site is going to change, but they just don't understand that for some reason. I do hope that everyone will come to their senses and realize nothing is changing here and come back from their hiatus.

The word out here on the front is that people are worried that Kerry will not be that different from bush. He voted for War, Tax cuts, Patriot Act - how is he different? I'm not sure that this country can keep going with the war-mongering, treasury-looting, elite politicians looking down their noses at us "common folk". People are very dissatisfied with that "Let them eat cake" attitude. Will Kerry get us universal health care? alternative fuels? the end of Corporate Welfare? the end of a corrupt tax system (a la "Perfectly Legal" by Johnston)? Will he stop the Empire-building and ravaging of helpless countries by our greedy Corporations? The natives are restless. They are tired of giving their sons, fathers or mothers to kill foreigners to make wealth and power for power-mongers. They are tired of working 60-70 hours a week, having to beg for health care, afraid to tell their doctors how they really feel, for fear that their insurance will drop their coverage if they get too "expensive". We The People built this country with our own two hands, and we shouldn't be taking back seats to foreign workers being imported to take our jobs. The stats say things haven't been this bad since the Great Depression, so where is Roosevelt to stop the banks from repoing the houses? Where is our New Deal? Where is a President who will quit catering to the filthy rich and realize that there are many out here who are thinking that the rich are looking pretty tasty?

Why are you badmouthing me on your forum and trying to make me look like something I'm not? Is that mature? I left for clearly ideological reasons and reasons of principle, which I have every right to do. I do not need to come here or anywhere else exclusively to be a Gore supporter, and the efforts of PFG are not to be a spoiler in any way, and you know it. I think it is very unfair of you to trash PFG when you were the one who originally said GSC could be the site for it. Were you saying that because you truly believed in our cause then, or just to keep members on your site? Again, PFG is NOT a spoiler, it is a group of Americans seeking to restore the man we voted for for the sake of our dignity and Democracy BEFORE it is too late. Perhaps you think that by just following along with the crowd you are doing right by this country. I don't agree however, and I refuse to now post in a forum where you are relegating my starting a forum for something I believe in to just being "mad" or not having a head on my shoulders. I don't need to answer to anyone for what I do. I would also like my name taken off your forum. I deleted it originally because I wanted to, and will not be forced to post anywhere where I now do not now feel comfortable expressing my views. Also, you have had a 90% warning level on my name for months, even the one you decided to put back yourself without my permission yesterday. I have asked you numerous times nicely in mail to consider removing it, but you ignored me. That and your obvious disdain for our effort which you have expressed in this message now leads me to question your sincerity towards this movement and what we were doing here. Here are some reasons why I won't be FORCEFED the DLC line again this year: I do not believe Kerry is the right man for this job NOW, this LONG campaign will be detrimental to getting Bush out, he is being shoved down our throats, this process is not over yet, there is too much at stake to not right the wrongs of the past before moving into the future, and I can damn well fight up until the last delegate is counted at the convention to see the RIGHT man there by the peoples' voice. If you want to get behind the DLC, the same one that trashed Gore, go ahead. The tactics of demeaning people who now dare to not lockstep and fall in line are the same tactics used by the Republican party, and frankly, I find it embarrassing and undemocratic. I also don't appreciate reading remarks about me like you posted on the PFG forum simply because you were angry. I have principles, and I have a loyalty for Democracy and I am not compromising that. You already know we said we will vote for the Democratic nominee. What more do you people want? Do you have any idea how MANY Americans feel utter disgust regarding 2000 and the years following it? This party has never ONCE even apologized to the American people for any of that. Don't then sit there and pontificate to me about what I have to do now. I know what I will more than likely have to do come November, and I won't be demeaned simply because I stand up for my principles until that time comes, to perhaps see a glimmer of hope for the man you claim to support. I also suggest Democrats who run these forums stop trying to force this "get in line and keep your mouth shut agenda" down our throats, for they will lose members, and we will lose votes. I won't be coming back after reading your last post here about me and PFG, and I do want the name you put up there removed. But don't fear, you have James and others who are sympathetic with the DLC on your side here now, so maybe you can reinstate him as your moderator and then the DLC will be firmly ensconced not only at AG Dems (which I did leave because of their views and censorship), but GSC as well. Again, good luck to you, and try to realize this was not personal towards you. I simply will not post where DLC people are, and I will NOT unite behind "Skull and Bones I voted for this war Kerry". I also don't need to in order to fight Bush. Actually, the Democrats shouldn't even be going through all of this. He should have been outted already, and put where he belongs. To think the Democratic leadership all cried for four years about how he was trashing this country while our representatives and party leadership let him do it only to now have a reason to fish for votes, is disingenous in the extreme. What we are doing at PFG takes nothing away from any of us being Gore supporters, Democrats, or Americans, and I am offended you would intimate such on your forum. It does however, remind Americans of what WE LOST, and what we could have if we all had the guts to stand up for it. This country has not been the same since we blew OUR chance, and I pray this party isn't only setting itself up for another fall. Again, good luck to you and this forum. However, I will think for myself and stick with what I know in my heart and soul is right. Jan

Buck up Chris. You're doing the right thing. You're doing what Al Gore asked to do when a nominee emerged from the primary process. It's a shame that some people would rather blame the DNC for Bush stealing the 2000 election than blame Bush himself. It's also a shame that the Deanie misinformation machine is still trying to smear Senator Kerry and his record. Kerry might not be our first choice or even our second choice but now he is our only choice to get rid of the illegitimate Bush.

I hate to see anyone leave this forum on account of this. First of all, it's this kind of in-fighting that destroys movements, and we've had entirely too much of that over the last four years. Don't get me wrong--I'm a Gore supporter until the day I die, and I will never feel vindicated until I see Gore take his rightful place as our President. But, having said that, reality is reality, and at some point, we all have to face it. I'm not saying that GSC should become a Kerry site, but truthfully, I don't think that was Chris's intent. Doesn't he have the right to express his opinion without being considered a traitor?
Personally, I won't be working for Kerry, although I'm certainly willing to discuss him and this whole process on this or any other forum. If you disagree with what Chris has said, by all means let him know that. But I, too, hope that people won't all scatter just because the administrator of this forum has decided that he has come to his personal end of this process. That "end point" is going to be different for all of us. For some of us, it won't come until the very last delegate vote is counted and the nominee is official (which most people accept at this point will be Kerry). For others of us, that point came long before this, when Gore said he wasn't going to run in this election, or when he endorsed Dean, or some other point along the way.
A few of us are still hanging in there. But I don't think any of us can fault anyone for coming to his or her own personal "end" in this whole nightmarish process, whenever that "end" occurs. We should respect those who continue to tough it out, and we should respect those who feel there's no point anymore. Who are we to judge? I think we need to be more tolerant.
Can't we all just continue talking to each other and discussing the issues? This isn't a Kerry site. It's a Gore site, but the administrator has reached a point where he believes the die have been cast. Mac Hathaway at Draft Gore New England did that. He posted a letter on his home page after the Dean endorsement saying it was over. Then he continued working for Gore . . . at least until he truly believed there was no point anymore. Shouldn't Chris be allowed the same liberty? After all, it doesn't mean we have to agree with him, and I don't think it means that's now the official viewpoint of this forum. All he's saying is that we should unite behind the nominee AFTER the convention. Isn't that what we've all been saying anyway?
We may hate to admit it, but we now know Kerry will almost certainly be the nominee. Some of us will continue to fight that until there isn't a shred of hope left. Others will quit sooner. But we're still all united in our respect for Gore. Don't we have common ground with that and enough respect for each other to continue talking to each other on this forum?

I still don't see the big deal about this. All because we change a name of a board to the Campaign of John Kerry which was the board called 2004 presidential candidates they act like everything has changed. I am glad that there are some people that see that does not mean we are in any way giving up on Al Gore. Why would I do that? That is like questioning one's patriotism.
So let me say this again, we are still a Gore site/forum 100%. We are not pushing Kerry in anyway, we are just encouraging everyone to unite behind him as the candidate when Nov. comes to get rid of Bush. I thought that was everyone's view, but apparently not.
Jan, I still don't see you view on this. You are the one that acted immature when you did not let me explain anything before you went and deleted your account. Now you bring up the warning level thing. Did it ever occur to you I might not have time to do that at any given time? You were the #1 poster here and now you are gone for no good reason. But that is not my problem.

Thanks Earthmother, that was very good.
I specifically said that this is still a 100% Gore site, but we should all do what we can to get rid of the #1 enemy, George W. Bush. Kerry was not my choice, but hell he is better than Bush. Gore has even said this. For someone to say that I have given up on Gore or such is just absurd. I happen to know Mr. Gore and have told him many things and he knows my views. He knows I will never give up on him. If I was going to give up on him, it would have been Dec. 16th 2002. But as I said then, we will continue to push the Gore vision for America for as long as I can afford to have this site.
I just don't see the sudden uproar over this. To delete your account after all the work you did is the immature part. Starting your own forum is fine, but leaving all of these great hardcore supporters claiming we are not with Gore is dead wrong. I think my members are the best Gore supporters there are. They come here daily depending on this site for Gore news and info. I get satisfaction knowing that I am doing a good deed in giving people this forum to discuss the president and the issues that affect us the most.
I will not stop my work on this site or forum. I feel many people who are here are here for good, not just through 2004. We all said we were at one point or time. We also said we would unite behind the eventual nominee when the process was over. I am honoring my pledge and so is Al Gore. Mr. Gore reconized and was flattered by our efforts, but made it clear he did not want to be a candidate this time around and I respect that more than you think. However, Kerry has now got enough delegates to win the nomination. It is my firm belief that any more of a Gore in 04 movement would only divert attention from the main vision and could cause embarrassment for Mr. Gore.
This is just my view, not the mantra of our website which still remains: "The Home of Hardcore Gore Supporters!"
Chris

I respect all of you so very much and all of your points of view and will continue to post here, yet I still am working and giving my all to the PFG cause like Jan and Earthmother...I am in it until the Convention but will vote for the dem nominee when the time comes. In the meantime, on Thursday it will be voting time for the people of Illinois and I will be writing in Al Gore! Let's let none of these points of view get in the way of how we feel about each other personally and let's remember that we will all help each other out when help is needed.

Oh, Erin, you bring tears to my eyes. Yes, this is the kind of unity we need. We've all been through so much together. It's utterly gut-wrenching. And when you write in Al Gore on your ballot, know that you've got the power of 51 million other people behind you who also wanted Al Gore to be our President.
Whether other people on this forum support PFG and its actions at this point is irrelevant. I think people need to be allowed to handle this whole Gore thing however they see fit. And we all need to hang together as people who respect each other and their rights to their individual beliefs.

It's a shame some have an 'either or with us or against' us mentality and can't abide any disagreement with their views. This is a discussion board. We should all be able to freely and fairly express our views.
