I am a Canadian. It is appalling and disgraceful that President Bush and his cohorts have managed to destroy international relations, eliminate the enormous surplus accumulated by the Clinton and Gore administration, start an illegal war and topple a government that does not pose an imminent threat to the world, propose a constitutional amendment that takes away human rights, and the list goes on and on. Last summer former Secretary of State James Baker made a impromptu visit to Canada. In his speech he stated, "Canadians need to beg forgiveness for not assisting the united States in its fight for freedom against Iraq." The first reason to go to war was the imminent threat that Iraq posed to the United States and the world. When that did not work the ideology changed to a strategic plan to have terrorists duke it out in Iraq instead of terrorizing the United States and the rest of the world. The next reason to go to war was to free the Iraqi people from its evil dictator. Which one is it Mr.Bush? Now the Iraqi people are living in constant terror and under a dictator (Bush) who is far more threatening than Saddam could or would ever be. What I am trying to understand is why Mr. Bush a war criminal and a threat to national security has not been arrested and set before a tribunal to answer for his war crimes. Mr.Bush is a terrorist pure, plain and simple. More than ever it is vital that a democratic government takes power before the world is in even greater danger than it presently is. I urge all democrats to fight for democracy and freedom by putting a democrat into office. If by chance Mr.Gore you should read this PLEASE continue to speak out for people like me who do not have the power through a American vote to change the destiny of the world.
